iStyles today announced the cessation of the ObjectsFusion business, and the birth and incorporation of a new company - iStyles Pte. Ltd.
ObjectsFusion was founded in 1997 as a web development firm, creating web services, applications and e-commerce infrastructure for various companies locally and abroad. In 2004, the company created two new business divisions - a web hosting arm, and an online iPod accessories webstore.
The iPod accessories business began life on pdatrends.com and was moved to iPodStyles.com in January 2005 for better branding. The hard work over the next few months paid off as traffic and sales skyrocketed, propelling the entire company forward. Things happened quickly as the company struggled to keep up with sales volume by building better infrastructure, using technology to automate processes, and refining business procedures.
"iStyles" was acquired in August 2005 after a dispute with Apple Inc over the usage of the word "iPod" in "iPodStyles" and the business was rebranded under the new name. There were no regrets as "iStyles" was to become a much stronger branding than “iPodStyles”, and it also allowed the company to expand market reach into non-iPod related products.
The company expanded into the PSP market in August 2005 with the launch of PSPStyles. PSPStyles expanded rapidly and was integrated back into iStyles in February 2006 to create one big “super site” of fashion accessories.
Today marks another important milestone as ObjectsFusion is renamed as iStyles and the new company incorporated.
