Apple's new iPods

apples-new-ipods-ipodfamilyphoto20050223.jpgapples-new-ipods-ipodfamilymini20050223.jpgTrue to the rumors, Apple has just launched a new range of iPod minis and iPod photos. The company introduced a higher capacity 6GB iPod mini, along with 30GB and 60GB iPod photo models that can be connected directly to digital cameras to display photos through the use of a $29 adapter. Unlike what was reported in the rumors, the new mini does not come with a color display, nor will it come in gold (yucks!), but it does come with bigger storage capacity and improved battery life. With the introduction of the new iPod photo models, they have discontinued the monochrome 40GB iPod. Only the monochrome 20GB iPod is left in that range.

The new 6GB iPod mini retails for $249 and the price of the 4GB iPod mini has been reduced from $249 to $199. The 30GB iPod photo retails for $349 and 60GB for $449, compared to the first generation of iPod photos which retailed for $499 and $599 respectively.
